Once, many years ago,my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer and was scheduled for a mastectomy.

很多年以前，我妈妈被诊断出患有乳腺癌，并计划做乳房切除术。

That morning I attended a college class in which the busband of a good friend was also a student.Most morning we said hello to one another and that was about it - he would sit with his guy friends ,and I usually sat alone,When he entered class that morning ,he came and sat next to me.He never mentioned my mom,never talked about  the situation at all ... he just sat next to me and chatted a bit.

那天早上，我到大学去上课，其中一个好朋友的丈夫当时也是名学生，大多数早上我们只是相互打招呼，他会和他的朋友坐在一起。那天早上当他走进教室，他坐在我的旁边，他没有提及过我的妈妈，从来没有问现在的状况....他只是坐在我旁边聊了一会。

That was the day I learned that sometimes the kindest act is just to be there ... and I always remember this as one of the most touching acts of kindness I've never received.

那一天，他发现有时候最善意的举动就是待在那...我永远记得这是我接受到的最动人的善意。
